What services do you provide and why is it unique?

We do research consulting services, we will conduct studies and assessments by collecting appropriate data, analyzing data, and reporting back with recommendations and policy considerations (if applicable). All research is conducted through an Intersectional Feminist framework and ensures LGBTQ+ individuals are not ignored nor deviantized, especially Black and African American, Indigenous, and other people of color (e.g., Latine(x) and Hispanic individuals, Asian individuals, Arab individuals) (BIPOC) who are also trans and/or nonbinary. We also sell packages for workplace LGBTQ+ inclusivity assessments and trainings from trans, nonbinary, and queer individuals. Assessments examine company/workplace practices and policies to ensure they are gender affirming and overall LGBTQ+ affirming. Trainings include LGBTQ+ inclusivity training for staff, one-on-one sessions with staff to improve LGBTQ+ inclusivity, and follow-up check-ins.

What sets us apart from other research consulting agencies is that part of our mission is to Queer the Gap. Queer the gap means to ensure LGBTQ+ individuals are not ignored and are centered in research, practices, and policy. Queering the gap also refers to bridging the gap between cisgender, straight individuals and the LGBTQ+ community and even within the LGBTQ+ community. We are different than other LGBTQ+ inclusivity training organizations because we don’t just offer training, but we also aim to queer the gap through education, research, centering trans and nonbinary individuals, and examining workplace policies and practices.

What are the general goals of this business?

We aim to Queer the Gap in research and in societal knowledge and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals. Queering the gap was created to bridge the gap between cisgender, straight individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community and even within the LGBTQ+ community. We aim to create a space to learn and better understand each other.

With everything going on in this country, from attacks on trans youth to banning Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the real history of the US in schools to racism as a public health emergency to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, now it’s important to stand and fight together. And helping to bridge the gap between cisgender, straight individuals and LGBTQ+ individuals is one way to do that.
